Thanksgiving Grocery Deals

It’s the most wonderful time of the year – that time when groceries go on sale! I personally also love the School Supply Sales season; but you can’t live on Ticonderoga pencils and Crayola crayons, so Thanksgiving Grocery Deals season wins the contest for the most genuinely useful sale season of the year.

This year, Thanksgiving grocery prices started being announced more than a month before the holiday. That’s what I like to see, because it means stores are serious about being competitive. Grocery stores like Kroger, Aldi, and Walmart are already offering (or will soon offer) impressive savings in their weekly ads.

Where Are the Best Grocery Sales in November?

Both Walmart and Aldi have both advertised very satisfying prices for your Thanksgiving meal shopping. Aldi has a Thanksgiving Feast for 10 for just $40, and Walmart’s deal is a Thanksgiving meal for about $4 per person. I’ve outlined both of those deals – what they include and what they don’t – below.

Kroger is also getting into the Thanksgiving grocery competition, as they have for as long as I can remember. Kroger usually offers weekly specials on baking and pantry staples, and in my memory, they’ve had turkeys on sale for extremely low per-pound prices with an additional $25 purchase.

And Kroger is coming in hot with some super sales that supplement the offerings from Walmart and Aldi. See below for truly “retro” prices on select items beginning November 5.

What I don’t know (and I wish I did) is whether we’ll see sale prices on butter as low as $1.99 per pound. I’m hopeful we’ll get at least $2.49 a pound for butter before the month is over, but no guarantees. Kroger already has a butter sale at $2.99 per pound, and Sams Club has it for about the same price as of this writing.

$2.99 per pound is still better than we’ve seen in a while, so definitely buy some butter if you need it. It’s easy to freeze if you want to do a small stock-up. I will be buying some now but leaving room in the budget and the freezer in case I get my favorite butter price later this month.

Kroger Thanksgiving Sale Prices

Kroger definitely has some good grocery deals starting November 5, 2025.

Keep in mind that most digital coupons can be used up to 5 times in a single transaction, but only once. If you can, buy all 5 at once.

Here’s what I’m seeing right now that I will absolutely get:

  • Eggs, 18-count for $1.99 (digital coupon)
  • Chuck roast for $5.99/lb (digital coupon)
  • Cheese, 12-16 oz for $2.49 (digital coupon)
  • Hillshire Farms smoked sausage for $2.99 (digital coupon)
  • Smithfield bacon $3.99
  • Ragu sauce for $1.49 (digital coupon)
  • Chex cereal for $1.99 (digital coupon)
  • Kroger broth $ .99 ( I make my own broth, but I might pick up one or two at that price.)
  • General Mills cereal, large boxes, $2.49
  • Grapes $1.29/lb
  • Kroger dinner sausage $3.99 (this is good, but not as exciting as the other deals)
  • All purpose flour, 5 lbs, $1.50 (wow, if my math is right, this beats Sam’s Club bulk pricing)
  • Sugar, 4-lb bag, is on sale for $2.99 (but Aldi has it on sale for $2.89 this week)
  • Brown sugar, 32 oz bag, 2 for $4 (Aldi has it on sale for $1.89 this week)
  • Powered sugar (aka confectioner’s sugar), 32 oz bag, is also 2 for $4 (Aldi has this on sale for $1.89 too)

Sam’s Club Thanksgiving Grocery Specials

Sam’s has their enormous Pumpkin Pies at my local for for around $5. Deal of the century, and they’re so good. And huge!

Don’t forget Sam’s Club for bulk baking products. The per-unit price sometimes beats the grocery store sales – though really good November sales may be an exception. I always just have to do the math.

  • Nestle Toll House semi-sweet morsles, 72 oz bag, $15.98 (.22/oz)*
  • Clabber Girl baking powder, 2 pack of 22 oz each, $7.78 (.18/oz)*
  • Bellarise instant dry yeast, 2 pack of 16 oz each, $5.98 (.19/oz)* (Fleischmann’s is .21/oz*)
  • Carnation evaporated milk, 8 cans of 12 fl oz each, $9.94 ($1.24/ea)
  • Nestle La Lechera sweetened condensed milk, 6 cans of 14oz ea, $11.28 ($1.88/ea)
  • McCormick pure vanilla extract, 8 fl oz for $9.98 ($1.24/foz)
  • McCormick imitation vanilla, 32 fl oz for $5.92 (.18/foz)*
  • Hershey’s cocoa powder, 23 oz bag for $9.98 (.43/oz)*
  • Arm & Hammer baking soda, 13.5 lbs for $8.88 (.66/lb)*
  • Athenos feta cheese, 24 oz for $7.28 (.30/oz)*

Aldi Thanksgiving Meal for $40 and Other November Deals

Although I’ve been dismayed to see how high grocery prices have gotten at Aldi, which used to be my go-to store for frugal groceries, they are bringing it this month with some gooood discounts. Aldi has weekly sales and the special Thanksgiving meal pricing that should last through the holiday.

Walmart Thanksgiving for $4 Per Serving

Walmart essentially makes the same promise as Aldi with a Thanksgiving meal for $4 per serving (which works out to $40 for 10 people). Aldi beats them on most individual items, but if Walmart is all you have, or if you’re loyal to certain name-brand Thanksgiving favorites (Butterball, StoveTop and Campbell’s), you’ll still be getting great grocery deals.

Here’s Walmart’s Thanksgiving dinner deals:

  • Butterball frozen turkey, 99 cents per pound
  • Fresh cranberries, 12 oz bag for $1.42
  • Russet potatoes, 5-lb bag for $2.47
  • gravy mix for 64 cents

  • evaporated milk, 12 fl oz can for $1

If I find other good deals as the month progresses, I’ll definitely update this post to let you know!
